Nature Note Cards

Here is a collection of my recently created note cards. These are about 4.5 x 6 inches and come with envelopes of course. They are all reproductions of paintings done with an airbrush. I hope you enjoy them!

A New Carved Squirrel

old squirrel design
I'd designed a squirrel a long time ago, but decided it was time to make a new shape. This is a Douglas Squirrel. The 2 photos with the forest background show the new design.

Artfire

I enjoy selling on ArtFire, because it's a friendly place, the seller tools are great, it aims at the whole internet of shoppers not just at people shopping that site, and there is a lot of conversation between the administrators of the site and the sellers (and buyers). They have a monthly fee (currently about $10) but no fees to list, and they don't take a percentage of your sale price. They also encourage links into and out of the site, for instance to a blog or website.

ArtFire Collection: Front Page!

This collection was featured on ArtFire's front page today! The curator of this says, "The twelve days of Christmas was a challenging collection in trying to find a tangible item for each of the twelve gifts. Hope you find something you'd like to give from an Artfire artist during the next twelve days!"

Raven and Dodo ACEOs

I've added two original little art card paintings 2.5 by 3.5 inches to my ArtFire studio, one of a RAVEN, and the other a DODO. Though I will make more of these approximate designs, each one is painted individually and so will be a bit different. It will be fun to see how they develop. I hope to have a lot more designs eventually.

What animals would you like to see?

Curious Fawn Art Card

Curious Fawn

I've just added another art card to my Artfire Studio, Curious Fawn. This one is also from an airbrush painting. Previous cards were printed on photo paper, this one is printed on an art paper with the look and feel of fine watercolor paper. It has no sheen at all so it looks more like the original painting.

It's a card size known as ACEO (art card editions and originals) sized 3.5 by 2.5 inches: a miniature work of art to collect, include with a greeting card, or frame.

Selling Art Card (ACEO) Prints

Ground Beetles
Doe and Fawn
Fawns

I'm excited to now have a few tiny prints of my airbrush paintings for sale in ArtFire. These are known as ACEO which stands for Artist Card Editions and Originals, always 2.5 by 3.5 inches. They are a great way to collect art on a budget or with no wall space. Also they make nice enclosures with gifts, or as a little gift included with a greeting card.

The ones I'm selling are open editions of my original paintings. They're printed on photo paper and sell for $4 each. The next ones I print will be on Somerset Velvet paper which is much like watercolor paper; it's a bit more costly so the price will be a bit higher, but still under $10.

Sale Items on ArtFire

I've added some carvings to my section ON SALE at ArtFire. Most of the sculptures are $44; these are selling at a considerably discounted price of $30. I like to make some available at a lower price so people on a budget might be able to afford them. There are others on sale also.

    Artfire Collections: Oct 20-23

Turkeys seem to be popular in Artfire Collections these autumn days!

There are a lot of these this time, so I haven't included all the photos. But the links on the animal names will lead you so a whole series of photos of each animal. The link on the name of each Collection, goes to that collection of 12 items from different studios.

      Artfire Collections: Oct. 13-14

      Wild Turkey Carving
I'm happy to share with you some more Artfire Collections! It's such a pleasure to have my shop, SandraHealy, included. A curator chooses a dozen items, fitting a theme, from different artists, so do check out the links to them. To not clutter my blog too much, I'm just including a small photo of my item which is included in each Collection.

      • "Trim the Tree!", curated by SuzanneStevens  "The stores and malls and, yes, Artfire, is already decked out for Christmas festivities! Seeing this always brings back memories of trimming our family tree with a myriad of ornaments: some heirlooms, some handmade, and new heirlooms-to-be. There's an abundance of beautiful Christmas ornaments available on AF...so many that many collections could be curated on that topic alone. Here is a small sampling of many that I found to be 'favorites'." (Blue Tit Carving)
      • Quail Pair Carving
      • "Just The Two Of Us!", curated by GoldBracelets "Good things do come in pairs. And I know a lot of us handicrafters and artisans here at ArtFire are Empty Nesters, so I found quite a few beautiful items with couples and pairs! Once again, I found quite a few new and very interesting ArtFire Artisans. I do hope you enjoy browsing their pages!" (Quail Couple Carving)
